Tirzepatide is a synthetic lipidated peptide: a linear chain of thirty-nine amino acid residues conjugated to a C20 dicarboxylic acid. Its sequence is based on that of GIP, and by receptor class it is a GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist peptide.
