1. Scope of these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to every order you place through it. They form the contract between you and AODAEMON LTD (Companies House No. 17176945), trading as British Peptide Labs. By placing an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not order. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.

2. Research use only and acceptable use

For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Sold strictly for in-vitro laboratory research; not for diagnosis or treatment.

This is the most important section of these terms. When you place an order you confirm that you understand and accept each of the following.

• The products are supplied solely for in-vitro laboratory research.
• They are not medicines, foods, food supplements, cosmetics or medical devices, and they are not sold as any of those things.
• They are not approved for human or veterinary use, and must not be given to any person or animal.
• You are responsible for handling, storing, transporting and disposing of them in line with applicable law and your own laboratory's safety practices.
• You are responsible for any risk assessment, permission or licence your work requires, and for the competence of the people carrying it out.
• You will not resell or supply the products to anyone else for human or veterinary use, and will not describe them as suitable for such use.

Any use other than in-vitro laboratory research falls outside the purpose for which we supply these products. That use is your responsibility alone. We may refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably believe this section will not be respected.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 or over to order from this website. By placing an order you confirm that you are. We sell to individuals as well as to businesses and research institutions, and we deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only.

4. Orders and how the contract is formed

Your order is an offer to buy. The email we send when you place it confirms that we have received it, not that we have accepted it. The contract between us is formed only when we confirm that your order has been dispatched, and it covers the goods named in that confirmation.

We may refuse or cancel an order before dispatch — for example if an item is out of stock, if there is an error in the price or the product information, if the delivery address is outside the United Kingdom, or for the reason given in section 2. If we do, we will tell you and refund any payment you have made in full.

You can order as a guest or create an account. An account is optional and simply keeps your order history and addresses together. If you create one, keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where VAT applies. AODAEMON LTD is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the VAT shown at checkout is zero. If that changes, prices will be updated on the website before it takes effect.

A minimum order value of £10 applies. It is measured against the value of the goods in your basket; delivery is free, so it adds nothing to the total. Below that value, checkout cannot be completed.

Payment is taken at checkout by our payment provider, in a field hosted by them. Your card details are handled by that provider and never reach our servers. The payment methods available to you are shown at checkout before you confirm your order.

Prices and product information are checked carefully, but errors happen. If a price is obviously wrong and you could reasonably have recognised it as an error, we do not have to supply the goods at that price. We will contact you before dispatch to ask whether you want to continue at the correct price or cancel, and we will refund you in full if you cancel.

6. Delivery

Delivery is free on every order and is by Royal Mail Tracked 24. Orders placed before 3pm (Mon–Sat) are dispatched the same day; orders placed after the cut-off, or on a Sunday, are dispatched on the next working day. Delivery is the day after dispatch. We deliver within the United Kingdom only and do not ship internationally. Full details are on our Shipping & Returns page.

Delivery timescales are the carrier's estimates and are not guaranteed. The goods are our responsibility until they are delivered to the address you gave us; from that point they are yours. Please give us an address where the parcel can be received, and check the parcel on arrival.

7. Cancellation and returns

If you are buying as a consumer — that is, not in the course of a business — you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You do not need to give a reason.

Those Regulations contain an exception for sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons, once they have been unsealed after delivery. Our vials are supplied sealed and fall within that exception, so once the seal on a vial has been broken the right to cancel no longer applies to that item. Unopened, undamaged vials with their seal intact are not affected.

If you are buying in the course of a business, including on behalf of a company or a research institution, that statutory cancellation right does not apply to your order.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights if goods are faulty, not as described or not of satisfactory quality. Consumers have those rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. For business purchases, we give the equivalent undertaking as a term of the contract: goods will match their description and will be free from defects in materials and workmanship on delivery. In either case, tell us as soon as you can after you notice the problem.

The practical returns procedure is set out on our Shipping & Returns page. Please email us at info@britishpeptidelabs.com with your order number before returning anything, and we will confirm what to do.

8. Certificates of analysis

Certificates of analysis issued to British Peptide Labs / AODAEMON LTD are published in the COA Library where available; for other products a certificate for the batch supplied is available on request. A certificate relates only to the batch it names, where it names one. Certificates report composition and analytical purity as measured in the laboratory. A certificate is not a statement about what a product does, and it does not make a product suitable for any use other than in-vitro laboratory research.

9. Website availability and content

We work to keep product information, prices and stock levels accurate and up to date. The website itself is provided as it is and as available: we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it. If we find that information relevant to your order was wrong, we will contact you before dispatch under section 4. Product images are illustrative.

10. Intellectual property

The text, product copy, images, page design, logo and trading name on this website belong to AODAEMON LTD or to its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own reference or for internal use within your organisation. You may not copy, republish, distribute or use any part of the site commercially, and you may not use our name or logo, without our written permission.

11. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, for breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss, damage or injury arising from any use of the products other than in-vitro laboratory research, and in particular from any use in or on a human or animal body. That use is outside the purpose for which the products are supplied and falls under section 2.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.

If you are buying in the course of a business, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the price you paid for that order, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of data or loss of anticipated savings.

12. Your liability to us

If you are buying in the course of a business, you agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, cost or reasonable legal expense we incur as a result of your breach of section 2, including any claim arising from the products being used in or on a human or animal body.

This indemnity does not apply to consumer purchases and does not affect the statutory rights of a consumer. Every buyer remains responsible for their own use of the products under section 2.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example to reflect a change in the law, in our products or in how we operate. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page when you placed it. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version was published.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of an order, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules that apply where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that part of the United Kingdom.

If something has gone wrong, email us at the same address with “Complaint” in the subject line and tell us what happened. We will look into it and reply to you in writing.
